Well, there it is....our #Studio. #Workshop. #Factory. Green Earth Art Company's International #Headquarters. In short, our garage.
Like many other #crafters (we suspect), our business is tucked away into a tiny, unassuming lot in the city that holds our garage/storage shed, doubles as our garden, dog yard, and so on. This isn't a complaint, really, because at least we have it for now, and this stunning aerial view certainly does not do justice to our #creative hub. In better weather, the "elaborate landscaping" is much more impressive and less depressive!
With sincere #gratitude, we definitely make the most of the space we have. Come on in and take a look at what we do and where we do it...

(If you're wondering about that picture of #AlbertEinstein on the wall, it says, "Imagination is more important than knowledge."). Words to live by and definitely appropriate words for a space where we try to keep #newideas, #products and #techniques flowing.
A couple of years back, a friend of ours in San Francisco was fascinated that we had a whole detached garage of our own, and quickly leapt to the wise and obvious conclusion that that was valuable #workspace. She was correct! So, as you see, we went to work creating as pleasant and #functional of a workspace as we could: We painted the walls a dreamy, creamy antique white and the floors a "Lucky Chinese Red." (See glimpses below of what it was and try, as we do, to suspend belief that it is still our GARAGE).
We got shelves, screens, and worktables, organized the space as best we could, and happily went to work.
Despite its obvious limitations, the space allows us to easily spend days (and sometimes nights and weekends) doing what we love, developing our #homeandgarden craft, and enjoying our own #creativeenvironment. Because it's ours and just out our own back door, it's beyond convenient, and for that we love it. We're proud of the beautiful pieces that come out of our little space...

Then, once again, it's back to reality....(And this picture is before we park our car down the middle of the room each night!). Should we also add that our studio is without heat and water, making this interminably lousy Spring a real obstacle to completing our orders?

So....despite the graceful, dreamy, magical quality of this #treasury of unfinished pieces below, the result of our limited space is just this...A pile of unfinished pieces!
To end our long and bittersweet story, we have found ourselves with the enviable problem of having outgrown our garage. With sincere thanks to what we have, we need to spread our arms a little wider, and are looking earnestly for an #artspace to rent, share, or buy (for the right deal). Please send ideas or help! A little heat, air and water couldn't hurt either!
P.S. From wherever we're working, we look forward to seeing you all this summer at a full list of fun #Arts&Crafts events, #FarmersMarkets, #FleaMarkets, etc. We will persist and expand as Time, Space and Fate allow:
